I have unlocked the astromech droid. You can buy purple sensors (sensor slot) for your protocol droid for 100k. All gives some +effeciency and +critical (+5 and +2).

You try tanking without "show target of target" then.
It's fun. You have no idea whether the mob is hitting you or someone else. The only indicator, what you see. Which, as even a squishy healer can imagine, is veeeeeery limited.

I'm sure more like it will pop up, just a question of which one will grow the biggest (or be the biggest if any established ones like Curse get in to it).
