Hey darlings,
With launch so close and all our guilds marked ready for deployment I thought it would be good to open up a wee discussion on when and where we could have our first alliance meet.
How would you all feel about Dec 23rd at some point in the evening?
What we've discussed is that game launched on Dec 20th and not everyone will have early access. We'll need everyone to be able to get off their origin worlds. 3 days should be more than enough for everyone to do that.
We could meet either on Coruscant (a cantina) or on the Carrick Statioon.
What do you think peeps?

Re: First Alliance meetup discussion
Problem - date is tricky for me and any others preparing for my birthday...errr i mean Christmas.
It also assumes people will be off their home world, which may not be true for some. I suggest therefore 2 meets - one on each starter world available to those who can travel and those still on that world.

Wizard idea. We will hopefully have a good few days of early access which will factor in to whether or not people can get off their starter worlds.
Your idea works either way.

I'm going to struggle to stick to a date and time over the Christmas Holidays to be honest. What ever you guys come up with, I will try my best to be there, promise.

Same here, Christmas in my family is a crazy running around, and in circles, and so on... and I barely sleep without gaming in those times. So I can promise nothing, but I'll try to be there.

Any time from 17/12 - 2/1 I'll be out of touch. And unable to play at all!
So I won't be there, but don't let that influence it; I won't be able to make it any time during Christmas.
You guys have fun, I'll be back with a vengeance

A forum post should be like a skirt;
long enough to cover the subject material,
but short enough to keep things interesting.

Maybe have the second meet way after Christmas, like 29th december or something. I suppose most people are done with unwrapping by then and not yet getting pre-drunk for year's end.JenDoon wrote:Yogash wrote:Problem - date is tricky for me and any others preparing for my birthday...errr i mean Christmas.

Re: First Alliance meetup discussion
We'll likely never get a date to please everyone. 2 or 3 organised official meet and greets will probably be the best bet in the long run, say over the course of a month.
There is always the possibility of us having regular weekly social meetups where new members can formally and in character, introduce and meet everyone.
I suppose I'm very keen to make a nice smooth and quick transition from our guild being officially a team via forum roleplay, to a team and guild who meet up face to face and start doing missions.
We'll be meeting fellow guildies from day 1 of early access and teaming with them.

Re: First Alliance meetup discussion
Word.
Guildies shouldn't feel bad if they can't attend the first meetup(s), and it shouldn't stop others from meeting.
The matter is being discussed on our allies' forums as well and different points are being brought up. I'll say here what I said there: I'm for avoiding the crowded places. We'll have a chance to get the feel of the places after launch and make a decision then.

picnic in the meadow?
If I have my way, we'll have weekly social meetups for guildies, our allies and friends so everyone will have repeated chances to get involved.
In a way, it makes TKM roleplay sense that we'd meet up in very small groups at first. It's not a high school reunion after all. One good thing about TOR is, the Jedi of our guild will meet each other first and have a chance to catch up, as will the troopers and smugglers, which makes sense.
