Grace period blues

Bummed out about the announcement about there being no grace period. I ordered my CE from Amazon.com since I have some points to burn there and wanted an english version which will be hard to come by in Germany. Sounds like its not expected to arrive till the 24th and with the holidays I can see that getting extended. 4+ day gap in being able to play on a newly launched game is not a flawless launch in my mind. Hope they come up with a solution... Just need to vent. Nothing to see here, move along.

I think they may send you an email with your passcode. Contact Amazong customer service dude, they will help you. I think you can even give them permission to open your box to get the code to email you.

Ohh Matron

I usually find with MMOS the developers/publishers will say NO GRACE NEVER!! then come the release date will extend . If they say otherwise it lets some people think they can play for free on a trial (free pre order + some game time ).

With it being the festive season I would think they would have factored in some grace behind the scenes other wise there might be an angry backlash if ,say the weather, held up deliveries.

No one wants angry players out the box ( especially given that there might be 115m newbie mmoers this time)

This is what I also heard, apparently they're mailing the passcodes in advance

Yea there was a big thread about this on the main forums, end conclusion was people were talking with Amazon reps who were confused with the pre order code. Sounds like the main issue is stock is not expected to get to Amazon until shortly before the 20th.

Players angry at the box ;)
Yea I hope this is the case, but it seems like an issue between Bioware and EA. I just found it funny they were defending the short notification of early access by saying they want a smooth launch yet they might be locking out paying customers from playing due to shipping dependancies. Seems like a wreck is likely to occur with it being the holidays. Sorry to be complaining... Hoping for the best.

Hum more hic cups in the system :(

just got an email apparently from Game that my order for Star Wars The Old Republic Collectors Edition could be delayed, may not arrive until 20-21 December and I would not be able to play until then.

The Good News my Preorder Code is for the standard Edition from Amazon, so I believe I will get in on early release because of that. :D

ok call me a moose and stick a red nose on me, just reread that email, will put a little in here
Due to the epic size of The Old Republic, we have a lot to do to make sure it gets to you in time for launch day. As a result, we will be processing your order and charging your payment card a little earlier than usual.

If your payment is processed successfully you will receive an email letting you know that your order is on its way. Your order is due to reach you after 15th December, the email just means it's being held ready for delivery. Please note all courier tracking numbers will not be active until the evening prior to the 15th.

Although your order will reach you on or after 15th December you will not be able to access the live SWTOR servers until release day (20th December). You will however be able to prepare to download the game client from the 15th December so you can hit the servers as soon as they open on launch day.

I've been told from shopto.net, that my game (cheapo edition) should be shipped on the 13th Dec. So with a bit of luck I should be ok for the 14th-15th.

Ugh talk about one cluster feck after another. My game appearntly wont arrive till after the 25th, so says the amazon page. So i could be playing for a day or two, then stuck out the game for a week.

So if theres no grace period, im pretty much stuck till after christmas. Annoying, but not the worse thing in the world since im going to be busy with christmas stuff. But still slightly annoying that they have ditched the grace period.

For now anyway. I wouldnt be suprised if they changed it due to the up roar on the forums. Will have to wait and see i guess. Or just take a look in the shops on the 20th and see if its about.
