In my Global Studies class everyone was assigned a partner and had to pick a country to do a report on. I quickly thought of 3 things... Jen'doon, Ewan McGregor, and Kilts. With that said i obviously picked Scotland!
I honestly don't know anything else about Scotland besides what i just listed... So i want anyone and everyone to post their comments and ideas of things i should bring up in my report! If you're from Scotland*Cough Jen'doon Cough* I expect you to have a list of awesome things about Scotland!
Ugh i have a picture but it won't accept it for some reason >:O

“A Trooper doesn’t get tired…he just reloads”
'We're coming....and we're bringing GUNS'
'two words - massive cannon. I got it - you don't'

Re: Scotland!
Haggis and bagpipe techno.
A forum post should be like a skirt;
long enough to cover the subject material,
but short enough to keep things interesting.

Re: Scotland!
Midges. They're very small flying insects in big swarms and they get in every orifice of your body. Their bites are like miniature mosquito bites so probably not lethal.
The air's wet. They must have at least one hundred different words to describe the different kinds of rain.
I love the malt whiskeys! Oban, Glenmorangie, Glenfiddich are popular and accessible ones.
A scotsman told me he taught Paul Hogan the Crocodile Dundee knife thing.
And then there's Doon. 'Nuff said.

Re: Scotland!
Ha!
Well, as this is an academic report you probably will want to mention the following things.
The clans (tartans and family names) and the massive wars between England and Scotland (ignore braveheart..it's all lies)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scottish_clan
You could mention Scotland was the only country to defeat and rebel the Roman empire
http://historyoftheancientworld.com/201 ... -scotland/
You could mentioned our countries superb scientific, literary and philisophical influence on the world.
((taken from wikipedia)
"Even before the Industrial Revolution, Scots have been at the forefront of innovation and discovery across a wide range of spheres: James Watt the steam engine, improving Thomas Newcomen's steam engine,[1] the bicycle,[2] macadamisation (not to be confused with Tarmac or Tarmacadam[3]) Alexander Graham Bell the telephone,[4] John Logie Baird the television,[5][6] Alexander Fleming discovered penicillin,[7] electromagnetics, radar,[8] and insulin,[9] are only a few of the most significant products of Scottish ingenuity."
Don't mention haggis.
Any other questions?

Re: Scotland!
But, but haggis exemplifies Scotland in the eyes of foreigners! Along with bagpipes, of course.
