1.2 geasr modifications question
Will some modification come with 1.2 patch in the armors. The smuggler's endgame coats are really ugly. There are no force in the universe that Armina would wear something like that. Will there be any alternative (at the moment the armoring of these is not removable)?

Re: 1.2 geasr modifications question
Short answer, yes.
But to go in to more detail, first there will be a new tier of PVE and PVP armor for all classes (see here http://dulfy.net/2012/03/17/1-2-new-armor-models/). Second, one of the big things that many of use are waiting for with 1.2 is that item mods that could previously not be extracted from high end gear, the armoring in armors, barrels in blasters, hilt in lightsabers, these mods will have the set bonus tied to them.
In other words, you can get the tionese/columni/rakata/new set gear just as before you can then take the mods out (they are some of the best you can get after all) and put them in whatever you want. So in the end you will be able to have the top end gear stats on any gear you want.

I want my Appearance tab! Best thing ever and there is no reason it shouldn't have been there to start with!

From what I heard you won't be able to remove the setbonus armoring from Centurion and Champion gear though (not sure about the old PvE armors), but only from the newly introduced gear.

Your centurion and champion commendations will still be there in your inventory and you can use them to purchase things like PvP lockboxes and such.

The Centurion and Champion gear will also stop being available for purchase at the vendors and will be replaced by pvp "recruit" gear that is cheap as hell and apparently better statwise then Champion gear atm. Battlemaster gear will be made available for purchase for regular warzone commendations.Systems Designer David Hunt let players know that many new Crafting schematics in 1.2 (on PTS) are available only via reverse engineering. He also reassured us that customizations to gear made pre-1.2 will be retained, and let everyone know that in 1.2 and beyond, you’ll be able to move new endgame gear set bonuses by removing the armoring mod. However, this change won’t be applied to older endgame items, just to those new in 1.2 and beyond.

Re: 1.2 geasr modifications question
That is unfortunately the case yes. The only high end sets you'll be able to extract the armouring pieces from are the two new ones that will come in 1.2 (one PVE and one PVP), a bit of a shame but I understand how it might have been hard to change how the old items worked.Valenth wrote:From what I heard you won't be able to remove the setbonus armoring from Centurion and Champion gear though (not sure about the old PvE armors), but only from the newly introduced gear.
That said, with all the new crafting capabilities crafters should be able to make stuff that matches and even outdoes the first few PVE/PVP sets statwise, if the set-bonus is really useful you might be out of luck until you get the new top end sets though.
