I am rather eager to try out the beta that is the possible reward. Any idea's how many beta's are still in the planning btw?

Well. There is a new build of the game due to land over the next few days. My guess is, this weekend coming we'll see another weekend test, and then some time after that, possible mid November we'll see a massive beta invite.

They need to seriously stress test letting a huge number of people into the game. They might stagger their launch, but still the very first day of early access is going to be intense.

So, I'd expect another 4 rounds of Beta invites, 2 of which will be weekends.

I see, that's a lot more beta tests then I expected (was thinking 2 tops). After hearing this I wonder if they would also consider an open beta test for those that have already pre-ordered the game.

Ye there is "open" beta for pre-orders without character wipe

Only just a headstart prior to 20 december... I will probably be in 18th as i pre-ordered just a week or two ago....

The early access isn't open Beta. They have said TOR is too big to have an open Beta.

Some people estimate this game will start with over 2 million subscribers.

Pffff, two million... But seeing how active the official forums are and such, I can kinda imagine they will have numbers like that indeed.
